Grandma's Apple Tree Wood Stopper
One More Brown Ebony
GrandMa's Apple Tree wood
GrandMa's Apple Tree
Species Latin: The big old apple tree at grandma's house I had to prune last summer.
Species Description: This is a very dark heart wood with a very light sap wood color. The wood is prone to cracking and splitting. The branchs I got to work with were very dry and cracked, so the pieces I was able to use I had to
spend some extra time and effort of the smaller cracks with CA glue.

Playing With the Brown Ebony
Argentine Brown Ebony Our second wood of the week.
Argentine Brown Ebony
Species: Caesalpina paraguariensis
Additional Comments: A very dense, dark-brown wood with an incredible 3-D figure in edge-grained portions. This piece of Brown Ebony wood is very hard yet very nice to work with. It shines very well and shows the deep rich grain.
Brown ebony is an exotic wood with very similar properties to Gaboon Ebony. The wood is a stable, intriguing wood with golden browns and dark streaks.
I have a piece of this wood that I found in one of my shop boxes. It was from a visit to the wood store where I thought this would be a nice looking piece to make a few toppers out of.

Aneigre - Wine Glass For A Wine Topper
A New Bottle Topper Made of Aniegre
This is a new bottle topper I just turned made out of Aniegre. It has a simple subtle shape which is perfect for a topper. This wood is very interesting. It is super soft and it tears easily. You need to make your cuts clean and your tool must be sharp. Never the less, it is a fun wood to experiment with.
